Description

EMBASE is a major biomedical and pharmacological database containing citations, abstracts, and indexing derived from biomedical articles in peer reviewed international journals.  It is especially strong inits coverage of drug and pharmaceutical research. Embase provides comprehensive coverage of drug research, pharmacology, pharmaceutics, pharmacy and toxicology, clinical medicine, public health, occupational health, environmental health rehabilitation and physical therapy, basic biological research relevant to human medicine, alternative medicine, and much more.

Embase is comprised of content merged from three databases:

  • Embase, the Excerpta Medica database from Elsevier - 1974 to present
  • Embase Classic - Excerpta Medica Abstract Journals backfile - 1947-1973
  • Medline - includes current 1966 onward, plus OldMedline back to 1950

Embase includes content not available from Medline.
