OpenDOAR Directory of Open Access Repositories

Connect to Database

This database is freely available to the general public via the internet.

Description

OpenDOAR is an authoritative directory of academic open access repositories. Each of these repositories collects, preserves and disseminates the intellectual output of an institution via the internet. Materials in a given repository can contain virtually any electronic file including article preprints and postprints, theses and dissertations, course notes, data and image collections, technical reports, and working documents. Note that our UB Institutional Repository managed by the University Libraries is listed. All UB-affiliated persons can deposit data, working papers, preprints and publications (subject to one's author agreement/copyright terms.)

To search for content across multiple open access repositories, try CORE.

There is a browsable list of repositories arranged by country. OpenDOAR also has an alphabetical by name repository list that can be searched or browsed. The characteristics of the various repositories, such as repositories by country, can be viewed as statistical charts. A list of Updates and Additions is available.
