Environmental Engineering Research: Articles / Databases

The databases below will lead you to journal articles on topics in environmmental engineering.

Use the databases listed below to search for and find articles on topics in environmental engineering. Major multidisciplinary databases are listed first followed by engineering and environmental chemistry and environmental sciences databases. There will be some overlap in these databases, but they will also all have unique materials in them.
Major Multidisciplinary Databases

  • Web of Science
One-pass searching of Web of Science citation indexes, BIOSIS Citation Index, Derwent Innovations Index, MEDLINE and more. More Info

  • Scopus
Large, multidisciplinary abstract and citation database of peer-reviewed literature. More Info

  • ScienceDirect
Full-text of all Elsevier published journals.More Info

  • Nature Journals
The UB Libraries subscribe to most Nature Publishing Group journals (and its subsidiary, Cell Press), including the flagship journals Nature and Cell. In many cases, the full-text is available back to the first volume of each title. More Info

Engineering Databases

Environmental Chemistry Databases

  • SciFinder
SciFinder is the premier research tool for chemistry, chemical engineering, biochemistry, biotechnology, and materials-related research. It provides access to the literature in these fields as well as to reactions, properties, spectra, and regulatory information and data. Also included in SciFinder is the full MEDLINE (aka PubMed) file.
Note: You must register for an individual log-in ID to use SciFinder. For more information on how to do that, go to: http://research.lib.buffalo.edu/scifinder.

  • ACS Journals
Full text of all scientific journals published by the American Chemical Society from 1879 to the present. More info

Environmental Science Databases

  • GREENR
Coverage of environmental research, issues, policy, and decision-making in the form of full text journal articles, news stories, interactive maps, statistical data, refereed case studies, podcasts, and more More info

  • Environment Complete
Coverage includes agriculture, ecosystem ecology, energy, natural resources, marine and freshwater science, geography, pollution and waste management, environmental technology, environmental law, public policy, urban planning, and more. More info

  • GeoRef
Geology, geography, soil science, and environmental science research. More info

  • GreenFILE
Covers all aspects of human impact on the environment. More info
