EndNote Click (formerly known as Kopernio) is a literature search and retrieval tool that helps researchers find and download PDFs from legally authorized sources such as publishers, open access repositories, and other document archives. EndNote Click is a free web browser plugin that you install with Chrome or Firefox.

EndNote Click works with UB's subscriptions to bring you paywalled articles that you (using your UBIT credentials) are entitled to access. If no subscription access is available, EndNote Click will try to deliver a free alternative, e.g. an OA version or preprint.

EndNote Click: Installation

EndNote Click can be installed in Google Chrome or Mozilla Firefox. Follow these steps to install the EndNote Click plugin in Chrome:

  1. Open Google Chrome.

EndNote Click: Finding Full Text

Follow these steps to use the EndNote Click (formerly Kopernio) plug-in for finding articles:

  1. Search for journal articles as you normally would using Google Scholar or library databases.

  2. As you browse pages containing articles, EndNote Click will add a button to the lower-left corner of your screen linking directly to PDF files.

  3. In cases where a PDF is not available, EndNote Click will not state "PDF Not Found". Please use UB Libraries Delivery+ service to request the item.

If you have questions about EndNote Click or any other library tools, contact the library at library@buffalo.edu or by contacting your subject librarian directly.

IMPORTANT NOTE: It might be beneficial to use more than one browser plug-in to search for full-text article access since they have different coverage. However, if you do use more than one, please be aware of the following potential issue:

  • If using LibKey Nomad and EndNote Click plug-ins, they appear in the same place on the screen, so they may overlap.
    • FIX: The EndNote Click pop-up offers an "X" to close the pop-up, if you prefer to see the LibKey Nomad result.
