The biological, life, and medical sciences are rapidly advancing the scope of knowledge in every aspect of their research and study. The information base in these disciplines is evolving rapidly as new discoveries, techniques, protocols, and laboratory practices change. Users of older reference work, such as encyclopedia and handbooks may contain information and data that have changed. Users are cautioned that such publications may contain outdated entries, and the older the resource, the more likely this will occur. We retain older resources for providing historical and background information. Be very careful, when using older reference resources and be sure that you document their citations carefully, should you need to verify or revise information discovered.
