This database is freely available to the general public via the Internet.

Created in 2005 by the CNRS (National Centre for Scientific Research), the CNRTL federates within a single portal, a set of French language linguistic resources and tools for computerized language processing. The CNRTL integrates the identification, documentation (metadata), standardization, archiving, enhancement and dissemination of resources. Included in this web portal are:

• Lexical portal: a collection of resources and data
  • Lexicons and dictionaries are integrated within a single lexical portal that allows cross-consultation as well as their export in a standard format (LMF, ISO-24613). Evolving project, the portal has lexical aims to integrate, enhance and share, primarily with the scientific community, a set of data from research on lexicons.
• Resources
  • The CNRTL documents freely available French corpus. Gradually, the data is converted to TEI and enriched with linguistic annotations. The CNRTL also offers the possibility to download the lexicon MORPHALOU (Lexicon Morphology of the French Open) as well as access to a set of ancient and modern dictionaries.
• Tools
  • The CNRTL identifies and documents software tools freely available for language processing. Ultimately, these tools will be made compatible with each other and lexicons by the development of standardized interfaces.
