Description
UPDATE: AMED has not been updated since October 2023. Updates are temporarily delayed while the British Library recovers from a ransomware attack. The British Library is posting information about the attack and recovery here: https://blogs.bl.uk/living-knowledge/. University at Buffalo access to AMED is on the Ovid platform. Ovid maintains the AMED data on its own server, so we still have access to AMED. No data from Ovid was compromised because the attack was on the British Library, not Ovid.
The Allied and Complementary Medicine Database (AMED) is a unique bibliographic database produced by the Health Care Information Service of the British Library. It covers a selection of journals in alternative and complementary medicine, palliative care, and several professions allied to medicine, including acupuncture, Chinese medicine, chiropractic, herbalism, holistic treatments, homeopathy, hospice care, hypnosis, osteopathy, physiotherapy, podiatry and rehabilitation.
Includes citations to journal articles on allied medicine and complementary medicine. Abstracts and full-text are provided when available.
Dates Covered
1985 to the present. Updated monthly.
