Description
Now hosted on the JSTOR platform, the Artstor contains over two million multidisciplinary digital images and associated metadata from notable image collections worldwide. The collection spans many times and cultures and encompasses architecture, painting, sculpture, photography, decorative arts, and design, as well as numerous forms of visual culture. Artstor also includes the tools to actively access, manipulate, and deliver these images. Included in Artstor are the Art History Survey Collection; the Carnegie Arts of the United States Collection; the Huntington Archive of Asian Art; the Museum of Modern Art Architecture and Design Collection; the Mellon International Dunhuang Archive of artifacts from Buddhist cave shrines in China; the Smithsonian Native American Art and Culture collection; the Schlesinger History of America; Women in America; Hellenistic and Roman sculpture; Art and architecture of Islam; the image of the Black in Western Art; the George Eastman House collection, and many more. Artstor is continually adding to its collection.
