Description

The Book Citation Index (BCI), accessed via Web of Science, includes scholarly books and book series from a variety of commercial and university presses, including Elsevier, Johns Hopkins University Press, and the University of Chicago Press. The BCI includes over 128,000 editorially selected books with 10,000 new books added each year.

Books are carefully selected based on well-defined criteria. The complete list of books and publishers included can be found here.

The BCI tracks the number of times books and book chapters are cited by journals, conference proceedings, and other books.

The BCI is multidisciplinary, covering disciplines across the sciences, social sciences, and arts & humanities.
