Description

The Chinese Students' Monthly was published by Chinese students in the United States from 1906-1931. It became the official organ of the enlarged Chinese student organization: The Chinese Students' Alliance in the United States. It discussed all the important movements in China during that period across a diverse spectrum of concerns. Many students contributed who later returned to China and played an important role in China's history. Useful for studying China; but also for studying the way in which America and American institutions and culture were perceived by these foreign students and how these perceptions may have influenced China during the period.
