Community Unconference - Uzazi: Let's Talk About Black Maternal Health, April 20, 2023, 9 am - 5 pm.  Harriman Hall

The conference registration has been moved to the Harriman Hall Ballroom.

The University at Buffalo Libraries and the Erie Niagara Area Health Education Center invite you to our community unconference. This conference will give you the opportunity to learn about maternal health challenges and opportunities from the perspective of community members, doulas, academics, and community-based organizations. Please join us in making a difference in the health of black and brown moms.

Please consider bringing a can of baby or infant formula to donate to the Durhams's Maternal Stress Free Zone's formula bank. All brands and types welcome, thank you!

9:00 am - 9:55 am: Welcome and Opening Keynote - Black Maternal Health: 1948 - 2023 (Rev. Diann Holt, Executive Director, Durham's Maternal Stress-Free Zone)

10:00 am - 12:10 pm: Sessions (mini workshop:community-based support, trauma informed care, breastfeeding)

12:10 pm - 1:10 pm Lunch

1:10 pm - 4:30 pm: Sessions (prenatal depression, dental care, community coalitions)

4:30 pm - 5:00 pm: Evaluation
