Happy Earth Day!

Earth Day is an annual event on April 22 to demonstrate support for environmental protection. First held on April 22, 1970, it now includes a wide range of events coordinated globally by EARTHDAY.ORG.

To celebrate this year, the University at Buffalo Libraries are holding the first annual "Check Out a Plant!" event on Tuesday, April 18th from 11am to 1pm on the second floor of Silverman Library! Participants are encouraged to stop by and grab some fruit, learn about the importance of composting and bees, and either plant some vegetable seeds or select a house plant clipping.

This guide will be developed over time to include multiple facets of plants as well as strategies you can do to promote sustainable living practices to celebrate the Earth year round.
