PERSÉE  is a portal that grants online access to entire back runs of French journals in the social and human sciences. It consists of full-text research journals published in France. Articles are in French, search language is French. Subject matters include political science, history, economics, archeology, psychology, African studies, art, law. Launched in 2004, the initiative is overseen by the Ministry of National Education, Higher Education and Research in close collaboration with researchers and journal editors whose common aim is to preserve and enhance the scientific heritage. Journals have a moving wall of 3 to 5 years between most recent appearance of a print copy and the online publication. See the Journals Overview for more information. Users must register, but there is no charge for use of database, which is subsidized by the French Ministry of Education.
