What is the UB Searching scavenger hunt?
It's a game in which participants search and find answers to University Libraries-themed questions.
Is it free to enter?
Yes! No cost to enter.
How many people can be on my team?
Up to four people, but you can also play by yourself!
When is it?
The UB Searching scavenger hunt will run from Monday, October 21, 2024 - Friday, November 1, 2024.
When do I sign up?
Sign-ups open October 1, 2024, but you can enter any time through the month of October—feel free to catch up on challenges you've missed!

Are there prizes?
Win up to $100 in gift cards to Tops, Wegmans, Starbucks, or the bookstore!
(Terms and conditions apply. If awardees are neither citizens or permanent residents of the US, each of them must fill out a W-8BEN form)
Where do I find the challenge questions?
The scavenger hunt will run from Monday, October 21, 2024 - Friday, November 1, 2024, with new challenge questions posted every week here on the UB Searching research guide. Scores will be updated weekly as well, so you can visit this guide to see how your team is doing. You can do the challenges week by week, or you can do them all at once at the end—it's up to you! The challenges will close for submissions on Friday, November 1, 2024 @ 11:59pm.
What happens in the event of a tie?
In the event of a tie, a tie-breaker question may be sent to the top teams after the Week 2 challenges have closed.
