PLEASE NOTE!

On June 30, 2022, the original SciFinder platform - otherwise known as SciFinder Classic - will be retired. If you are logged in or attempt to log into Classic on that date, you will be directed to SciFinder-n. 

If you are a user of the Classic platform, please begin migrating your answer sets/alerts to SciFinder-n. This guide may be helpful: Migrate Saved CAS SciFinder Answer Sets and Alerts (includes instructions at the bottom of the page).

How to Register for a SciFinder-n Account

New Users must set up an account. This is not optional.  Instructions are below for registering both off-campus and on-campus. 


OFF-CAMPUS REGISTRATION

To access the registration site, you must be a current authorized UB faculty, student or staff member and have a UBIT name and password. 

 

YOU MAY RECEIVE AN ERROR MESSAGE AT THIS STEP!  Here is how to resolve the error:

Step 2- Create Your Account.

Once you're at the UB/CAS SciFinder-n Registration Site, register your name, address, UB e-mail account (@buffalo.edu). You will be asked to create your own user name and password that is separate from your UBIT name and password (although you may choose to use your UBIT name and password). Your user name and password must be kept confidential and not shared with any other person, UB-affiliated or not.

Step 3- Search in SciFinder-n.
