Creating Permanent Links: UB Online Catalog

Brief instructions for creating a link to a specific resource in a select UB database

The UB Online Catalog

To create a link to a specific record in the UB Online Catalog:

1. Once you have search results, click on the record of interest

2. Locate the series of icons displayed under the heading "Send to."

3. Click on the "Link/URL"  icon.  The link/URL for the record will appear in a box.

4. Click on "Copy the Permalink to Clipboard" appearing beneath the URL.

5.  The message "Success" will appear when the URL is copied.

6. Paste the link  (URL)  into the document  or application of your choice. (If using WORD, press Ctrl+V).

NOTE: This technique will work to create permalinks to records located via an "Everything" search.
However, to create a permalink to a resource itself(e.g., an article) residing in another database, will require using the permalink-creation tool provided by the specific database.
