The Data Citation Index (DCI), accessed on the Web of Science platform, provides a single point of access to specific sets of research data from repositories around the world. Note this database is not part of the Web of Science Core Collection subset of databases.

The DCI also tracks citations to data sets from scientific literature published in journals, books and conference proceedings.

Coverage includes the social sciences, physical sciences, life sciences and arts & humanities, although currently, it is strongest in the life sciences.

The database includes direct links to repository records where the deposited data can be accessed and enables researchers to navigate between related records within a repository. The producer, Clarivate, has a helpful DCI product page with links to further details, short videos, webinars, and a searchable database of data repositories included in the index.
