Resources for EAS202: Evaluating Sources

When thinking about evaluating your sources, whether they are from web search results (like Google) or from the library catalog, you can think about these five aspects of the source, ACT UP:
A is for Authority and knowing who is responsible for the source you're looking at. C is for Currency and thinking about when the source was written and how it impacts your topic. T is for Truth and how you can verify the information in the source. U is for Understanding Bias and how your own biases and how the biases behind the source creation can impact the information. P is for Power and asks you to examine the power dynamics in your own research and in the information source you're looking at.
