Environmental Law Research Guide
Provides a general guide to conducting legal research in areas related to the environment with a focus on hazardous and toxic chemicals and related environmental issues.
Use this guide to:
- learn about state and federal sources of law from the courts, administrative agencies, and legislature,
- search through legal periodicals and indexes related to environmental law, and
- access links to our many resources in the law library's collection related to environmental law.
Toxicology--In-depth Resource Guide
This guide is designed to assist patrons who need to do an in-depth search of the detailed toxicology of a particular substance or make an extensive review of a topic related to toxicology such as endocrine disrupters. If a concise overview of the toxic effects of a particular substance or a brief listing of major toxicological databases is needed, start by searching the TOXNET site (see above) that searches numerous National Library of Medicine databases providing a wealth of toxicological information on reasonably common compounds.

Love Canal Collections at the University at Buffalo
The University Archives is the repository of numerous collections related to environmental issues in Western New York. Particular attention has been paid to the environmental disaster Love Canal.
This website includes an introduction to the history and background of the events that occurred at Love Canal, two chronologies of events, scanned documents of the Ecumenical Task Force, database of Love Canal articles, and a glossary of definitions for individuals, organizations, businesses, government agencies, chemical waste dump sites, and major issues relating to Love Canal and other local environmental disaster areas.

The Love Canal newspaper clipping file contains articles culled from the Ecumenical Task Force of the Niagara Frontier Love Canal Collection. Taken from local and national newspapers from 1978-1990, some articles may be restricted for study by copyright issues. There is a searchable database of the articles available online.
