​The mission of University Archives is to document the history of the State University of New York at Buffalo and its predecessor, the University of Buffalo (1846-1962). Within our collections are resources that can assist researchers seeking information about Keyishian v. New York State Board of Regents.  The lawsuit, involving loyalty oaths and the First Amendment, was appealed to the United States Supreme Court in 1967 and is considered a landmark decision regarding academic freedom.
