Finding Books & DVDs at UB
- Search UB Libraries' Catalog to locate books on your topic. There are four basic ways to search the Catalog:
- Keywords (use the Boolean operator "AND" to connect key terms) Sample search: immigration AND film
- Title (omit initial articles such as ‘the' and ‘a')
Sample search: Kite Runner
- Subject begins with… (use Library of Congress subject headings) Sample search: Motion Pictures
- Author (last name first) sample search: barthes, roland
- After your search, use the limiter "Content Type" and select "Videos" to narrow to DVDs and/or online streaming videos. e.g. keyword Psycho (limit to content- type videos) to find the film.
