Musicals - Vocal scores

Vocal scores for musical theater works are all classed in M933. Full scores of musicals are generally not available. Collections are at the beginning, with A3 on the next line. After that, scores are arranged alphabetically by composer's last name. If there is more than one score by a single composer, collections come first, then shows are arranged alphabetically by title.

Another place to look for songs from musicals is in M7, which is where you would find collections that include more than one type of song (for example, arias and songs from musicals, or pop songs and musical theater). For quick reference:

More Information

Please see the guide to Musicals and Musical Theatre for detailed information dedicated exclusively to musical theatre.

The course guide for MTR210, Musical Theatre Repertory, contains detailed information on finding vocal scores, librettos, and cast recordings--while developed to assist with song preparation and the research project for that class, much of the information will be helpful for anyone looking for musical theatre scores and resources.
