This guide provides information and examples for citing sources properly according to the following citation style manuals: American Psychological Association (APA), 7th edition; Modern Language Association (MLA), 8th ed

APA

Basic Format:

Author, A. A. (Year of Publication). Title of work: Capital letter also for subtitle.
Location: Publisher.

Lopez, B. (1986). Arctic dreams: Imagination and desire in a
northern landscape
. Scribner.


MLA

Basic Format:

Lastname, Firstname. Title of Book. Publisher, Year of Publication.

Notes:

Three to Twenty Authors: List by last names and initials; commas separate author names, while the last author name is preceded again by ampersand. This is a departure from APA 6, which only required listing the first six authors before an ellipsis and the final author's name.
