Technology Resources

Microsoft Office Suite

The campus uses MS products extensively in the classroom. Students are often asked to create presentations, work with spreadsheets collecting and organizing data, and (of course) writing papers. While you are always permitted to do these with other tools UB IT supports a specific set of tools, including Microsoft. It's always a good idea to become familiar with and use those tools in case you have problems that need technical help to resolve. Your instructors will have limited knowledge on how to troubleshoot technology related issues.

MS for Windows
Use Microsoft Office 2019 Professional Plus for Windows, a productivity suite of software for editing documents, spreadsheets, computer slide shows, reading email and more, for your computer with Windows 10 operating system installed on it.

This software contains: Access, Excel, OneNote, Outlook, PowerPoint, Publisher, Word

MS for Mac

Use Microsoft Office 2019 for Macintosh, a productivity suite of software for editing documents, creating spreadsheets, making computer slide shows, reading email and more.

Office 2019 for Mac contains Excel, OneNote, Outlook, PowerPoint, Word.

Additional Resources

UB Mail

Email is a major communication tool at UB. Not only will you receive announcement from your professors but you'll also get campus alerts and event information. Stay in the loop by always checking your email during the week, you never want to miss out on an important message.

UB IT software

Students' UB Technology Fee covers a host of softwares that can be downloaded directly onto one's personal computer or access remotely with the proper software.  UB provides access on Windows, Mac, and Linux devices. Need to crunch numbers? We have SPSS. Need to organize citations? Get access to Endnote. Need MatLab? We have access. Need to do CAD drawings? We've got that too.
