Yvar Mikhashoff Photograph Collection (Mus. Arc. 1.5)

This collection can be searched either through its finding aid or in Digital Collection. The collection contains 423 indexed images and approximately 350 additional, un-indexed snapshots. The collection contains photographs of and by Mikhashoff, including publicity shots, professional photographs and snapshots of Mikhashoff in rehearsal and performance, and snapshots from some of Mikhashoff's travels. Other people included in the images include noteworthy performers and composers, such as Aaron Copland, Virgil Thomson, Sylvano Bussotti, Henri Dutilleux, Giacinto Scelsi, Toru Takemitsu, Frederic Rzewski, Luis de Pablo, Henry Brant, John Cage, Milton Babbitt, Conlon Nancarrow, Nils Vigeland, and Poul Ruders.

Slides taken by and of Yvar Mikhashoff, chiefly during his many travels. Only a preliminary inventory is available.

Other collections

In addition to the collections created by Mikhashoff himself, the Music Library holds other archival collections that contain images of Yvar Mikhashoff. The images are listed separately in the finding aids for the respective collections and all of the images can be searched and viewed in the University Libraries Digital Collections. 

The Music Library does not own the copyright for the images. Use of the images requires the user to acquire the rights from the named photographer and for negotiating any fee with them. All images are the physical property of the University at Buffalo, so any use requires attribution not only for the photographer but also for the University as the source of the image.
