Welcome to the second edition of the UB Research Guide on the life and works of Marcel Proust (1871-1922), early twentieth-century French novelist and author of arguably the most ambitiously conceived and brilliantly executed novel in the history of literature, A la Recherche du temps perdu (1913-1927), translated into English as In Search of Lost Time or Remembrance of Things Past. This guide aims to unlock the incalculable riches of Proust's masterpiece for all readers, whether amateur or scholarly, and at all levels, from beginners to veteran Proustians – all, without exception, are invited to this feast of joy.
