On April 16, 2021, the Digital Scholarship Studio & Network (DSSN) hosted a symposium exploring automation, algorithms, and bias. The speakers were Sarah Montoya, “Settler Colonial Bias in GIS,” Cathy O’Neil, “What is the future of algorithmic auditing? Two different scenarios,” and Ewa Plonowska Ziarek, “Automation of Judgments and the Ends of Thinking.” Discussion was moderated by Evviva Weinraub Lajoie.
