Cancer Resources
- Cancer Survival ToolboxInformation regarding cancer treatment and care for the older person. The site has options such as downloadable pdf files in English, Spanish and Chinese and also provides the option for the user to listen to information.
- ClinicalTrials.govDatabase of privately and publicly funded clinical studies conducted around the world. Patients and families can search for actively recruiting studies that you may be able to participate in, or learn about new interventions/treatments that are being considered.
- OncolinkThe Abramson Cancer of the University of Pennsylvania has available, many different resources for the consumer with a variety of search options including an Ask the Expert page where select questions of interest to the general public are answered by a medical panel. A different topic is covered weekly.
- Roswell Park Cancer InstituteThe site for the Roswell Park Cancer Institute contains links to clinical trials,a pull-down menu where types of cancer can be searched, as well as information on prevention, research and other general information regarding this disease.
- National Cancer InstituteSpecialized cancer information from the National Institutes of Health, including fact sheets, research news and updates, glossaries, and resources for caregivers.
- The American Cancer SocietyHomepage for the American Cancer Society.
Diseases & Conditions
- Centers for Disease Control and PreventionPart of the U.S. Department of Health and Human Services, the CDC provides health information along with statistics on health topics and disease nationally and globally. Includes information on disaster preparedness and travelers' health.
- Genetics Home ReferenceFor a focus on genetics, this site provides accessible information on gene mutations, associated health conditions, chromosomes, and mtDNA. The site also contains a thorough resource guide for advocacy, genetic testing, disease registries, bioinformatics databases, and much more.
- Genetics and Rare Diseases Information CenterProvides fact sheets, guides, and research related to genetic and rare diseases. Also provides numerous support resources, including contact information for specialists in genetic and rare diseases.
- Information About Diseases, Viruses, Conditions and PreventionFrom the New York State Department of Health, this index of diseases and conditions links to introductions and measures of prevention, annual data reports and statistics, and much more. Provides a regional focus.
- National Organization for Rare DisordersUnique federation of voluntary health organizations dedicated to helping people with rare "orphan" diseases.

Associations
Associations may provide useful information such as data and statistics, as well as advocacy and support. To search for an organization associated with a disease or condition of interest, try a Google search limited with site:.org (for example, search for: autism site:.org).
- The American Heart AssociationContains healthy living guides, information on heart conditions, support and caregiver resources, as well as articles and videos.
- Alzheimer's AssociationSite for the Alzheimer's Association, providing support for Alzheimer's and dementia patients and their caregivers.
- The American Arthritis FoundationLinks to research, resources and events and programs related to arthritis.
- Parkinson's FoundationProvides information about the care and support of those suffering with Parkinson's disease.
- The American Lung AssociationProvides education, advocacy, and research on diseases on lung health.
