Articles in this peer reviewed journal include the video and written introduction, protocol, results, figures and tables, discussion and references. Videos are designed to increase productivity and reproducibility, speed up comprehension of scientific concepts and experimental methods, save time and money, and disseminate research more quickly.
The mode of access depends on whether UB subscribes to the section containing the article. The library currently subscribes to six JoVE Journal sections: Behavior, Bioengineering, Biology, Immunology and Infection, Medicine, and Neuroscience. All of the content for these six sections is accessible to patrons on campus. Off campus access requires a UBIT name and password.
There is typically a 24-month embargo period on most videos in the other non-subscribed sections, which are: Biochemistry, Cancer Research, Chemistry, Developmental Biology, Environment, and Genetics. Access content for the non-subscribed sections through PubMed Central (see below) keeping the 24-month embargo period in mind.
