About this guide

HUBNET, a collection of resources provided by area hospitals and the University at Buffalo, will be retired on December 1, 2020. This guide replaces HUBNET and serves as a portal to clinical resources and other biomedical databases.

Subscription databases require a UBIT name and password.

Guidelines

Finding guidelines in:

PubMed - Run a search. Click Additional filters on the left hand side of the page. Article Type will be the default category. Click the check box next to Guideline. Click Show. Then click the check box next to that publication type to refine your results. Alternatively, you can add this to the end of your search: AND guideline[Publication Type]

MEDLINE via Ovid - Run a search. Click to expand the Limits under the search box. Click the Additional Limits button. Look for Publication Types and then select Guideline. To apply the limit, click the Limit a Search button at the bottom of the page. Alternatively, you can add this to the end of your search: AND guideline.pt.

EMBASE via Elsevier - Run a search. To the left of the results, look for the Study types results filter. Scroll to look for practice guideline. Choose it and then click Apply. Alternatively, you can add this to the end of your search: AND 'practice guideline'/de

CINAHL Plus with Full Text - Enter your search term(s). Before you click Search, scroll down to view the Publication Type Search Option. Choose Practice Guidelines. Then click Search. Or, you could also type Practice Guidelines into one of the empty search fields and adjust the dropdown menu from Select a Field (optional) to Publication Type.

Trip - Run a search and use the Guidelines filter on the right to find guidelines from Aus & NZ, Canada, UK, USA, or Other.
