The Annenberg Public Policy Center of the University of Pennsylvania was founded in 1993 and created FactCheck.org in 2003. By conducting and disseminating research, staging conferences and hosting policy discussions, its scholars have addressed the role of communication in politics, science, adolescent behavior, child development, health care, suicide prevention, civics, and mental health, among other important areas.

• Center on Budget and Policy Priorities

• Policy Commons (private company)

Policy Commons (formerly PolicyArchive) is a one-stop community platform for objective, fact-based research from the world’s leading policy experts, nonpartisan think tanks, IGOs and NGOs. Individual sign-in required, but much of the information is free to use.

• Think Tank Search (Harvard) 

Think Tank Search searches the websites of institutions that generate public policy research, analysis, and activity. These sites are affiliated with universities, governments, advocacy groups, foundations, and non-governmental organizations.

• Urban Institute

The Urban Institute is the trusted source for unbiased, authoritative insights that inform consequential choices about the well-being of people and places in the United States.

• Cornell Legal Information Institute

Excellent starting point for legal research. The site publishes an extensive collection of core legal materials, for example, the annotated U.S. Constitution, the U.S. Code, U.S. Code of Federal Regulations, and Supreme Court decisions.
