On July 30, 1971, The Spectrum published a review of President Ketter's first year in office.  In it, Ketter is lauded for his efforts in improving relations with the local community, and the "quiet advancement" and "consolidation" of the university.  One faculty member is quoted saying that the year was "uneventful, cautious and damned dull." This drawing by The Spectrum's Tom Toles (BA '73) depicts President Ketter as a centaur.
